It’s been a long wait - to watch Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in their royal attire in Jodhaa Akbhar (2008). This Ashutosh Gowariker production has been in the news for over a month, thanks to the people who saw the grand trailer at theaters. The richness in costumes and artwork alone raised the much needed hype for this period movie. We were all dying to see the trailer, but risking our souls into watching some crap bollywood movie was too much a price to pay for, to catch a trailer. Some good souls helped us by capturing the trailer with their mobile phone cameras. But they could capture only the video but not it’s grandeur.

Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar is the untold love story of the greatest Mughal emperor who ruled Hindustan (now India), Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar, and a fiery young Rajput princess, Jodhaa.

He’s obsessed about his physique and his father has one of the strongest Hollywood hangovers in Mumbai, which makes our knowledge about Hrithik being the next Rambo, very believable. There is no official confirmation from the Roshans yet, but there is a very strong possibility of Hrithik being ‘Rambo 4’, which is totally in line with his father’s constant larger than life vision - the vision which took more than a few leaps with Filmkraft’s superhero flick ‘Krrish’.

If Hrithik playing Rambo turns out to be a reality, it will be his ultimate step to superstardom - a huge step up from donning the combats in ‘Lakshya’, but much in line with the image he tried to portray in the same film.

“A lot of people, when they came into the theatres to see ‘Lakshya’ with me being the central character, I think, expected to see something like the second half of the film, something like Rambo,” Hrithik had said in an earlier interview.

TIMES NOW called both Hrithik’s inner circle and contacts in Hollywood. While nobody was willing to spill the beans, our sources insist that Hrithik Roshan has indeed come very close now to getting his ticket to Hollywood. If it’s Rambo, then our desi superhero is surely flying first class.

Highly reliable sources have confirmed that Hrithik is lined up to play the role of the Afghani boy who grew up to be Rambo’s successor. The news is that the film will be shot in India once Hrithik has completed shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Jodha Akbar’. But does our man have what it takes to fill the formidable space created by Sylvester Stallone?

The right platform

The physical dynamics fit to the T but no matter how endearing Stallone is, Hrithik will score better in the acting department.

“I think he’s the only Indian actor who looks the part. He’s fit enough and, after ‘Krrish’, this will go into another zone altogether as it’s a Hollywood production and they’ll spend the right kind of money to give it the right amount of backup,” opined ad film maker Prahlad Kakkar.

For the record, Hrithik hasn’t exactly been running after Hollywood. He turned down a film opposite Jennifer Lopez seven years ago.

While Sylvester Stallone gave a befitting farewell to the Rocky series with Rocky Balboa, it seems the Rambo legacy will be carried on and don’t be surprised if the future looks a bit Indian!

According to “one of the most respected scoopers” of Mania.com, Jet Li has been in negotiation for joining the upcoming second sequel to The Mummy and the tile for it has been picked as “Mummy: Curse of the Dragon”. The plot for the film, which is being kept under wraps for the most part, seems to involve Brendan Fraiser’s character, his son, and a brand new Mummy (Li?). Rachel Weisz is also expected to reprise her role.

Since Stephen Sommers stepped out of the project, Rob Cohen is directing the film for the studio which is aiming for a 2008 release.

The first Mummy (a loose remake of a 1932 same title black and white short actually) is brainless and funny and the second Mummy is more brainless and less funny. What about the third Mummy? Jet Li will steal the show because he is a true fighter. He triumphantly buried the franchise of Lethal Weapon by outshining everyone in the fourth installment of it. Will he do the same for Mummy?

Rush Hour was released in 1998 and became a big hit. Jackie Chan was finally accepted in Hollywood. His company with Chris Tucker made the audience laugh their head out. 3 years later Rush Hour 2 came, this time with a bigger budget and better action. And the result was even better. Now 6 years later Rush Hour 3 is coming. Scheduled to release on August 2007, the very first teaser of the movie is now available. As usual, we have it for you on direct download.

Al Gough, who is co-writing the third installment in the Mummy film franchise with partner Miles Millar, told SCI FI Wire that the sequel will unwrap a new mummy and feature a character who is the grown son of Rick and Evie (played in the previous films by Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz). It’s aiming to shoot this summer under director Rob Cohen (Stealth) for a 2008 release.

Gough and Millar, who also created The CW’s Smallville, said the sequel will also have a new concept. “Stephen Sommers [who wrote and directed the previous two films] and his partner, Bob Ducsay, … approached us and said, ‘Steve doesn’t want to write the third movie. Would you guys be interested?’” Gough said in an interview. “And we were like, ‘Well, it’s a third.’ But then they had a concept for it that we really liked. They had an idea for the movie, which is something we always wanted to do. So we’re like, ‘Well, if we don’t do it, they’re going to do it in this movie.’”

Gough said that he and Millar added their own ideas to the script, including a storyline centering on the main characters of Rick and Evie. “We figured out a really good family story with Rick and Evie, and [their son] Alex is now grown up. So it’s really interesting.” Alex was played as a young boy in 2001’s The Mummy Returns by Freddie Boath.

As for whether Fraser and Weisz will reprise their roles in the film, Gough said that he was confident the script is good enough to persuade them to return. “They’re in negotiations,” he said. “So the plan is to bring them back. I think it’ll end up being Brendan and Rachel, ultimately. They’re the core of the movie. That’s why people love the Mummy movies. And then it’s taking that and then expanding it and introducing [a] new character and a new mummy. So we’re really excited to get going. We met with Rob Cohen today, and he’s really jazzed to do it. So fingers crossed, God willing, we’ll be shooting this summer and it’ll be out in the summer of ‘08.”
